FIELD: chemical technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical technology, namely to a device for electrochemical water purification, and can be used for purification and disinfection of water, in particular industrial and domestic wastewater. The device comprises a housing, a water inlet pipe, a water outlet pipe, and a partition. The partition divides the internal cavity of the housing and consists of lodgements located at an equal distance from each other, forming slots of the same size. In the lodgments of the partition, electrodes are installed: an anode and a cathode located in parallel planes opposite each other. The electrodes are made of titanium and coated with a platinum group metal such as ruthenium, rhodium, palladium, osmium, iridium, platinum. The ratio of the total area of the passage sections of the partition slots to the area of the passage section of the inlet branch pipe for water supply is 1:22. The distance between the electrodes is preferably 4 to 5 mm.
EFFECT: increasing the efficiency of water purification, increasing the service life of the water purification device and the safety of its use for humans.
