POLYURETHANE SYSTEM AND METHOD OF MAKING FOAMED LOW DENSITY SHOE ARTICLES WITH SOLID COATING Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC C08J9/32 A43B13/02 A43B19/00 C08G101/00 C08G18/10

Abstract RU 2397996 C2

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a liquid polyurethane reactive system for producing shoe articles with a solid coating, e.g. sole inserts, soles etc. This reactive system includes at least one polyol meant for reaction with at least one isocyanate prepolymer, an expansion agent, an additive which contains a catalyst and expanded microspheres. The polyol is selected from polyester polyols with molecular weight from 1500 to 3000. Amount of expanded microspheres ranges from 1.0 to 30 % of the weight of polyol and the additive. Amount of the expansion agent ranges from 0.5 to 3.5% of the weight of polyol and additive. The invention also relates to a method of producing foamed shoe articles with a solid coating using the said liquid polyurethane system, resulting in a foamed structure with spontaneous foam density between 0.05 and 0.22 g/ml, as well as to foamed polyurethane shoe components made using the said method, and to use of expanded microspheres in the said liquid reactive polyurethane system.

EFFECT: foamed shoe articles made from the said polyurethane system have low density, have high resistance to hydrolysis, virtually do shrink and have excellent coating and physical and mechanical properties (e.g. wear resistance, number of wrinkles, elongation etc), which are necessary for their use.
