FIELD: manufacturing technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing a multilayer coating (M) based on (S), as well as to multilayer coatings and their application. Method includes the following steps: (I) providing a primer coating (B) based on applying a water primer coating material (b) to the substrate (S), the primer coating material being a two-component coating composition, and (II) providing a transparent coating (K) directly over the primer coating (B) by applying a water transparent coating material (k) directly onto the primer coating (B), the transparent coating material being a two-component coating composition. Specified two-component coating composition includes (b.1) a binder component and (b.2) a curing component. Binder component comprises (1) at least one polyurethane resin having a hydroxyl number from 15 to 100 mg KOH/g and an acid number from 10 to 50 mg KOH/g, (2) at least one aqueous dispersion comprising water and a polyurethane resin fraction consisting of at least one polyurethane resin, where the polyurethane resin fraction has a gel fraction, the proportion of which is at least 50 %, whose glass transition occurs at a temperature of less than -20 °C, and the transition associated with melting occurs at a temperature of less than 100 °C, and (3) at least one pigment that colors and/or provides an effect. Curing component includes (4) at least one hydrophilic modified polyisocyanate with an isocyanate content of from 8 to 18 %.

EFFECT: multilayer coatings obtained by this method have good optical properties, high mechanical stability and flexibility, and are also resistant to external mechanical effects.
