FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to fabrication of diamond containing composites with metal binding used as working parts of tools. In a diamond crystal there are made blind holes by interaction of diamond with particles of metal at 800-1000°C in a medium of gas-reagent reacting with carbon dissolved in metal and not reacting directly with diamond. When depth of holes reaches 20-30% from dimension of diamond, surface of diamond is flattened by holding at 800°C during 3-10 hours in atmosphere of air.
EFFECT: making holes and flattening diamond increase its strength and facilitate tight connection of diamond with metal at fabrication of tools.
