FIELD: diamond treatment, namely application of unwashable line on diamond. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of applying on diamond line including ions or atoms of metal that dissolves carbon of diamond at 600-1200 C; etching diamond in atmosphere of gas reacting with carbon dissolved in metal but nonreacting with diamond; preserving diamond quality due to heating it from 400 C up to treatment process temperature and cooling it until 400 C at rate 10-20 C/min.
