FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to sand dollar technology. The raw material is filled with 2.0 - 2.5% aqueous alkali, kept at temperature 70-75°C for 5-6 hours, further the solution is neutralised with sulphuric acid to pH 3-5 and kept in the acidulous solution for 16-18 hours, then poured out from a reactor, and a mixture containing free fatty acids (extract I) is recovered with chloroform. Further, the residue raw material in the reactor is twice extracted with 96% ethanol by infusion for 16-24 hours; then alcohol extracts are separated from the raw materials, merged and concentrated to minimum volume to recover a mixture containing free fatty acids (extract II) from the concentrate with chloroform. Further, extract I and II are merged and concentrated, then the concentrate is dissolved in hexane and applied on a silica gel chromatographic column to recover free fatty acids, free sterols and derivative carotinoids by consecutive elution with hexane and ethyl oxide hexane gradient with the end products to be concentrated. Then concentrated free fatty acids are used to prepare polyunsaturated fatty acids by crystallisation at temperature (-25-10°C) for 2-3 hours.
