FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: components of the modulus of the absolute velocity vector of the subsurface object along and across its diametrical plane, acceleration is measured using accelerometres moving towards each other on the object with vertical axis of sensitivity along the direction of the absolute velocity vector of the devices. Linear velocity of accelerometres, vertical distance between accelerometres and the sea level, the site latitude of the object are determined and the true heading of the object is calculated using a formula.

EFFECT: invention simplifies and increases accuracy of determining true heading of the object in the submerged position.
