FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for measurement of width and/or position of metal strip (2) or slab. Device comprises at least two measurement systems (3, 4), each of which is located at one side (5, 6) of metal strip (2) or slab. Measurement system comprises sensor (7) for registration of side end (8, 9) of metal strip (2) or slab. To develop reliable measurement device and provide for dynamic measurement, according to invention, the sensor (7) is located at movable element (10), with the help of which it may progressively move in direction (Q) across longitudinal direction (L) of metal strip (2).
EFFECT: increased reliability and accuracy of measurements.
