FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to non-ferrous metallurgy, particularly to procedure of preparing chlorine-magnesium raw material to electrolytic production of magnesium and chlorine by dehydration. The procedure consists in supply of raw material into a multi-chamber furnace of a boiling bed, in carrying out the first stage of dehydration of raw material by successive displacement of raw material through a row of horizontally arranged furnace chambers and in supply of furnace gases into each chamber. Gases are generated by combustion of mixture of natural gas and chlorine-containing gases in a furnace. Further, the procedure consists in performing the second stage of dehydration in a chlorinator and in production of dehydrated carnallite for electrolytic production of magnesium and chlorine and in utilisation of fumes of the second stage of dehydration. At temperature 125°C fumes are supplied into a fire box of each chamber of the boiling bed furnace for combustion with natural gas at maintaining ratio of fumes to natural gas in mixture as (15-25):1.

EFFECT: reduced material expenditure for utilisation and extraction of chlorine from fumes and prevention of environment pollution.
