FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to pediatrics, and can be used for ultrasound diagnosis of extravasal compression of the cervical vertebral artery. The straightness of the vertebral artery in its canal is assessed in a grey-scale mode, and the level of transverse process of cervical vertebra (C6-C2) and distance thereof are determined. Then a colour duplex mapping mode is used to reveal the presence or absence of haemodynamic blood velocity step in the canal between the transverse processes of adjacent cervical vertebras. If diagnosing the unevenness of the artery, different relative position of the transverse processes of cervical vertebras, asymmetric distances and observed haemodynamic blood velocity step, extravasal compression of the vertebral artery is reported.
EFFECT: method allows for non-invasive diagnosis of extravasal compression of the cervical vertebral artery and thereby simplification and acceleration of the out-patient examination of children.
