SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to neurology and can find application in superior gluteal nerve block. Substance of a method consists in pronating a patient in a recumbent position, drawing a line in a frontal plane through the middle of a lower edge of ischial bone and through an upper edge of the wing of ilium, marking a first point in the middle and drawing a diametral line through the first point in the gluteal region. Thereafter, another line intersecting the diametral line to derive a second point marked is drawn in the sagittal planes through the middle of the lower edge of ischial bone and through the upper a wing edge of the wing of ilium. The block is enabled by measuring a side-approach distance between projections of the first and second points in the frontal plane and a derived value is accepted to be a due individual needle depth from skin surface to the superior gluteal nerve in the frontal plane perpendicular to the sagittal plane. The block is enabled by measuring a back-approach distance between projections of the first and second points in the sagittal plane and a derived value is accepted to be a due individual needle depth from skin surface to the superior gluteal nerve in the sagittal plane perpendicular to the frontal plane.

EFFECT: use of the given invention allows improving the perineural block in the patients with painful triggers in the gluteus medius muscle.
