FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: radar environment is created in a sector of the field of view Ω with size on the azimuth ΔβΩ, which is not greater than the electronic scanning sector on the azimuth ΔβΩ≤Δβe. When testing the radar, sector Ω is scanned with a fixed antenna through electronic scanning with inspection groups having n inspections per group, where n=B/ΔβΩ, each inspection having a period of T0/n. Reflected signals detected in sector Ω during its k-th inspection in the group, where k=1, 2,…, n, are assigned an index number of this inspection k, where numeration of inspections of the sector Ω is repeated in each group of inspections. Signals reflected from different groups of inspections but with equal index numbers k are considered signals reflected from the same target during its k-th flight on a given path.

EFFECT: smaller number of target launchings when testing a radar station with preservation of testing reliability.
