FIELD: mining.
SUBSTANCE: method for profiling of bottom deposits includes installation of receiving-radiating antenna of profile recorder onto towed device and it's towing above bottom, radiation of pulse acoustic phase-manipulated signal modulated with M-sequence, reception of reflected signal, its correlation processing with copy of radiated acoustic phase-manipulated signal. At the same time antenna of profile recorder is towed above bottom so that its height h over bottom and suggested depth of profiling H are linked with the ratio h=H/c12, where: C12=c1/c2, C1, C2 - speed of sound in water and in sedimentary layer of sea bottom accordingly, and full width of profile recorder antenna directional characteristic in vertical plane at the level of 3 dB equals double critical angle θ0.7-2θkp, θKp=arcsin(c12). Then graphic building of bottom deposits profile is carried out by time of reflected signal delay.
EFFECT: increased depth of bottom deposits profiling with preservation of high resolution.
