FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: device for directing a beam of electrons accelerated in a betatron onto a target has two groups of windings which are symmetrical about the plane of symmetry of the betatron. Each group includes a ring bias winding which is coaxial with the betatron and a sector emission winding. The middle of the said sector winding is diametrically opposite the target. The said sector winding is formed by several coils which are made in form of annular sectors uniformly distributed in an angle stretching 180°, are connected in parallel and are connected to their own power supply.
EFFECT: shorter duration of the radiation pulse with retention of minimum dimensions of the focal spot.
