FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: source of braking radiation comprises a magnetic conductor, poles, excitation windings, central inserts, an accelerating chamber, a target, two systems of shift windings with opposite pulse ampere turns in the end of the acceleration cycle. Shift windings are arranged between the accelerating chamber and the magnetic conductor. In windings of the first system created by shift windings that are nearest to poles, direction of pulse ampere turns matches direction of currents in shift windings, and windings of the second system are arranged between windings of the first system with gaps relative to windings of the first system and between each other. The gap between shift windings of the second system is less than size of the accelerating chamber in axial direction. A part of the gap between shift windings of the first and second systems is filled with a magnetic material.
EFFECT: reduced size of a focus spot of braking radiation in axial direction.
