FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: haemoglobin concentration, arterial oxygen saturation, body weight, heart rate, RR intervals and cerebral venous oxygen saturation within a projection of a frontal venous cerebral sinus are evaluated. The diametre of the left and right internal carotid artery, right and left vertebral artery and linear blood flow velocity are measured. The RR and HR proportional current in each artery is calculated by a mathematical formula. Then total current of all four arteries is calculated. The arterio-venous cerebral oxygen difference is calculated. The real cerebral O2 consumption, cerebral weight in males and females are determined by equations. The due oxygen consumption is derived from the calculated cerebral weight. Then the obtained data are used to calculate the due cerebral blood flow. Thereafter, the measured values are compared with the related due values to conclude about the functional status of cerebral circulation.
EFFECT: method allows assessing the cerebral current and evaluating its actual metabolism.
