FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to clinical physiology, cardiology and cardiosurgery. The method includes measurement or estimation of heart mass, measurement of cardiac beat frequency, measurement of arterial systolic pressure, measurement or estimation of respiratory factor of heart, measurement or estimation of a heart beat volume. Then calculate metabolic (MHW) and mechanical work of heart. The MHW is calculated under the formula MHW=MHWj×Mheart×CR, where MPC full metabolic work of heart for a minute, J; MHWj - metabolic heart work in J on 1 kg of mass of heart for one cardiac cycle, Mheart - heart mass, kg; CR - cardiac rate in a minute, under the formulas.
EFFECT: offered method allows estimating consumption of oxygen by human heart in a monitoring regimen in clinical conditions and can be used in the research medical centres and at treatment of patients in cardiac surgery clinics.
