FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in production of aluminium by electrolysis of cryolite-aluminous melt with the help of inert anodes. Inert anode comprises metal phase and ceramic phase including nickel oxide and iron oxide. Ceramic phase comprises also chromium and copper oxides with their total oxide varies from 1 to 80 wt %. Inert anode features lower solubility, dissolution rate and corrosion rate in cryolite-aluminous melt.
EFFECT: more pure electrolytic aluminium.
