FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy, possibly manufacture of inert anodes for producing metals by electrolysis of melts, namely electrolytic production of aluminum in cryolite - alumina melts.
SUBSTANCE: oxide material for making inflammable anodes of aluminum cells represents high-substitution complex oxides on base of tin dioxide of rutile structure type of formula Me3 x + Me5 x + Sn2-2x O4 or cermets on their base having low solubility in cryolite - alumina melt, high electrical conductivity and improved resistance against gas corrosion and against contact reduction by metals.
EFFECT: possibility for producing increased-purity aluminum at low energy losses.
