FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical and petrochemical industry. The carbon dioxide absorbent consists of an oxide which contains Ba, Ca and Ti. Molar ratio Ca:(Ba+Ca) lies between 0.25:1 and 0.65:1 and molar ratio (Ba+Ca):Ti lies between 2.2:1 and 4.0:1. The principal crystalline phase of the absorbent is Ba3Ca2Ti2O9. Carbon dioxide is absorbed at temperature between 600 and 1000°C.
EFFECT: absorbent can absorb carbon dioxide at low and high temperature, does not expand and has high longevity.
