FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: image forming device has an image formation unit which enables formation of toner images on an image transfer carrier. The toner image contains chromatic toner image components having different colours and superposed transparent toner image components. The device also includes a fixation unit which facilitates heating and fixation of the toner image on the image transfer carrier, a switching unit for switching operations into a mode in which the toner image is formed through several image formation operations in accordance with information associated with the maximum amount of toner per unit area in the zone in which the transparent toner component is present. Fixation of the toner image takes place through several fixation operations.

EFFECT: design of an image forming device which optionally has a period of time required for forming an image using colour toner and transparent toner.
