SUBSTANCE: image forming apparatus forms a toner image on a carrier for image transfer using colour toner and transparent toner. The image forming apparatus has a means of forming an image using colour toner on recording material and a means of forming an image using colourless toner on recording material; wherein the colourless toner has melt viscosity at fixation temperature which is higher than melt viscosity of the colour toner; a fixation means for fixing an image formed by toner on the recording material; a means of obtaining information on the region of the formed image in which the assigned glossiness is partially increased, partially reduced or partially increases and reduced; a control means for controlling glossiness of the image after fixation by changing the order of superposing the image formed from colourless toner and the image formed from colour toner.

EFFECT: enabling control of glossiness of the obtained image in a wide range.
