SUBSTANCE: image forming apparatus, capable of selectively outputting a sheet having an image formed by toner on one of its surfaces, and on both of its surfaces, which has a fixation unit configured to fix the toner image on the sheet, a sheet stacking part configured to stack sheets and a control part configured to control the maximum number of stacked sheets from sheets stacked in the sheet stacking part. The control part performs control so that the set maximum number of stacked sheets, when sheets are stacked, at least one of which has a toner image formed on both of its surfaces, is less than the set maximum number of stacked sheets, when sheets are stacked, each of which has a toner image on one of its surfaces.
EFFECT: preventing blocking of sheets without negatively affecting output or quality of the image.
