SUBSTANCE: recording medium includes a data area and a data management area. The data area includes a single film playback unit and a single Java playback unit which have different formats. The data management area includes several data management files for playing back the single film and Java playback unit. Data management files contain a film object file and a Java object file. The film object file contains management information relating to film, which is associated with playback of the single film playback unit. The Java object file contains management information relating to Java, which is associated with playback of the single Java playback unit.
EFFECT: efficient playback of a recording medium having different attributes by providing a new file structure for managing playback of such data.
