SUBSTANCE: device for dedication of virtual containers VC-m from multiplexed streams of virtual containers VC-n of SDH networks, comprises cascade-connected unit for processing of multiplexed stream of virtual containers of upper levels VC-n with unit of cyclic memory and unit for processing of multiplexed stream of tributary containers of lower levels TU-m with unit of cyclic memory. Proposed device and method are adjusted for processing of multiplexed streams made of VC-n containers of the same type, containing virtual containers VC-m of lower levels of nesting for all multiplexed containers VC-n in amount, which corresponds to recommendation ITU-T G.707, or multiplexed streams with byte-serial alternation of VC-n containers number differing from the one proposed in recommendation ITU-T G.707.
EFFECT: reduced amount of hardware resources used in processing of multiplexed streams of SDH networks comprising frames STM-1.
