FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to clinical psychology. The Spielberger scale questionnaire survey is conducted to determine the reactive and personal anxiety levels. Pulse rate (b, blows/min), the reactive anxiety (RA) and personal anxiety (PA) levels are evaluated by formulas, respectively: RA = (Xr-Mr)/σr; PA = (Xp-Mp)/σp, where: Xr, Xp is a total score of key answers, reactive and personal, respectively, Mr, Mp is an mean value, i.e. an arithmetic mean indicator, reactive and personal, respectively, σr; σp is a root-mean-square deviation, reactive and personal, respectively. The derived values are used to calculate the anxiety level (AL) by formula: AL = (RA+PA)/160+kb, where: 160 is a maximum total score by the Spielberger scale, k is a regression coefficient equal to 0.1. If the AL=6.0-8.0, the low anxiety level is diagnosed; the AL=8.01-11.0 shows the medium anxiety level; and the high anxiety level is indicated by the AL exceeding 11.01.

EFFECT: technique allows for a subjective rapid assessment of general anxious functional status of a patient which is supposed to be used for the selection of prospective follow-up care for the purpose of the prevention of development of acute mental disorders.
