FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to gynaecology, and can be used for diagnosis of the degree of post-ovariectomy vaginal wall atrophy in females. Dopplerometry of vaginal blood flow is conducted by a standard technique to measure a peak systolic velocity SV and an index of resistance IR. If the SV is equal to 17 and more, and the IR is less than 0.65, a norm is diagnosed. The SV 13-16 and the IR 0.66-0.7 indicate a mild degree of blood flow disturbance. The SV 11-12 and the IR 0.7-0.75 show a moderate degree, while the SV less than 10 and the IR exceeding 0.75 enable to diagnose a severe degree of vaginal wall atrophy.
EFFECT: technique allows for higher diagnostic accuracy of the degree of post-ovariectomy vaginal wall atrophy in females due to examination of blood flow in the basal, parabasal and stromal layers of vaginal walls.
