FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to traumatology and orthopaedics. The geometry of an injured bone is assessed. Two autografts are formed of the fibular bone of total length 70-75% of the shaft length of the injured bone. The autografts are perforated along the whole length. The fracture ends are resected to open the marrowy canals. The autografts are introduced parietally into the marrowy canals. A compressed extensible nail is inserted into the marrowy canal from a proximal fragment. After passing the proximal fragment, a distal end of the extensible nail is inserted into the marrowy canal of a distal fragment. The extensible nail and autografts are tightly pressed to walls the marrowy canal by extending the nail to maximum diametre. The Fixion nailing system is used as said extensible rod. The nail is extended by the introduction of physiologic saline under pressure up to 80 Bar.

EFFECT: method provides reliable internal fragment fixation of the injured long bone, reduced traumatism and complexity of a surgical intervention.
