FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to processes of production of semi-finished products and items with an ultra-fine grade structure by procedures of intensive plastic deformation (IPD). The procedure consists in forcing a work-piece through from a receiving channel to an adjoining deforming channel. Forcing a work-piece through facilitates alternating shear deformations in metal of the work-piece; the work-piece is propped on an output side of the deforming channel. The deforming channel consists of successively arranged inclined sections and an end straight section along lengthwise axis of the receiving channel. The inclined sections are tilted into opposite sides relative to lengthwise axis of the receiving channel. Their cross section is identical in shape and dimension to cross section of the receiving channel. Area of cross section of the end straight section is less, than area of cross section of the said inclined sections.
EFFECT: upgraded mechanical properties of metals and service characteristics of metal items and raised techno-economic indices of IPD processes.
