FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: horn antenna in which a plug-in exciter is placed directly inside the horn, is made in form of a truncated pyramid. The plug-in exciter is placed such that its axis is parallel the bases of the truncated pyramid. Dimensions of the rectangle formed by the section of the pyramid, where the plug-in exciter is located, are calculated for the lower band limit of the horn antenna, and optimum height of the horn for the upper band limit.
EFFECT: wider frequency range and emission of picosecond signals.
