FIELD: chemistry; biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mycobacteria and can be used specifically for culturing mycobacteria from leproma from leprosy patients and aminals with experimental leprous infection. The disclosed liquid culture medium contains 0.15 g monosubstituted potassium phosphate, 0.25 g disubstituted sodium phosphate, 0.05 g magnesium sulphate, 0.15 sodium citrate, 0.005 g ammonium ferric citrate, 3.5 g or 3.0 ml glycerin, 0.5-3.0 g sodium chloride, 1.0-4.0 urea and up to 100 ml distilled water.
EFFECT: disclosed culture medium increases isolation rate of the leprosy causative agent during inoculation of leproma samples from leprosy patients and animals with experimental leprous infection.
