FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: matrix X-ray receivers (MXR) are designed for use in medical high spatial resolution scanning X-ray apparatus. The MXR for a scanning X-ray apparatus has several plane crystals joined into a line, each having a photodetector zone in form of a matrix of photocells which are optically connected to an input scintillation layer. The novelty lies in that the crystals are in form of parallelograms which are joined into a line by their lateral sides, wherein the width of the gap between the photodetecor zones of neighbouring crystals does not exceed a value defined by the expression d=H·ctgα, where d is the width of the gap between photodetector zones of neighbouring crystals in a row, H is the height of the column of the matrix of the photocells of the photodetector zone of the crystal, α is the acute angle between the base and the lateral side of the parallelogram.
EFFECT: elimination of the effect of end clearances when joining plane crystals having photocells.
