FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: composition of target, consisting of compact material, intermetallide Ti-Sb, is intended for radiation of this substance on particle accelerator and production of tin-117 m in condition "without carrier" from contained antimony. One method of production includes synthesis of material in arc furnace, then powder of produced substance is melted in induction furnace under certain conditions. The other method consists in heating of container with powder of Ti-Sb in gasostatic extruder at high temperature and high pressure of inert gas. Ti-Sb material produced by these methods is quite massive, compact, has high heat conductivity, melt temperature and temperature resistance.
EFFECT: higher temperature resistance of target material composite with high content of antimony in process of radiation with flow of accelerated charged particles and yield of radio tin.
