FIELD: food industry.
SUBSTANCE: method envisages suspension preparation by way of dispersion of at least one carotenoid in a physiologically acceptable oil phase, inline heating of the suspension during a period of up to 30 seconds at a temperature not exceeding the boiling temperature of the oil and cooling down the heated carotenoid oil solution by methods selected from the group which consists of mixing with a physiologically acceptable oil phase at a temperature which is lower than that of the heated oil solution and usage of a heat exchanger for production of cooled carotenoid oil solution. The carotenoid oil suspension contains particles of a carotenoid selected from the group which consists of astaxanthin and canthaxanthin. The carotenoids have specific characteristics. The method of food compositions production envisages carotenoid oil solution preparation and addition to food compositions. The method of food composition production envisages carotenoid solution preparation by the above-described method, cooled carotenoid oil solution addition to high-porous nonorganic media and addition of the media to food compositions selected from the group which consists of feed blocks and pellets, feed pills and capsules.
EFFECT: invention allows to provide for a more cost-efficient, effective and environmentally friendly method of nutrients and colouring agents addition to food compositions.
