FIELD: food industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to changing colour of salmon meat. Method provides for growing salmon using fodder product mixed with carotinoid colorant. Carotinoid colorant includes at least astaxanthin, phoenicoxanthin, canthaxanthin and adonixanthin. Content of adonixanthin in fodder makes from 20 to 100 mg/kg. Content of phoenicoxanthin in fodder makes from 5 to 80 mg/kg.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to grow salmon having natural reddish-orange colour of meat with addition of affordable natural colorant into fodder.
