FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method of determining density of dielectric liquid substances flowing through a dielectric pipe, where the substance is probed with electromagnetic oscillations and oscillations propagating in the pipe are received. Existence of a defined type of wave with frequency equal to or greater than critical oscillation frequency of the field in that pipe is ensured by varying frequency of output oscillations of a fixed frequency generator. Further, the received wave reaches the input of a frequency metre. The density ρ of the analysed liquid substance is determined using the formula: , where k is a coefficient which takes into account the radius of the pipe; ω0n is frequency of oscillations propagating in the pipe, n=1, 2, 3…; M is molecular weight of the substance; N is Avogradro number.
EFFECT: simple procedure of measuring density of substances flowing through a pipe.
