FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to semi-permeable membrane-type tubular variable-porosity filtration elements to be used in separation of solutions. Membrane element represents tube 1 made from porous fibrous material. Pores are not closed and feature crosswise sizes of one order of magnitude along the length and crosswise sizes decreasing radially along tube length and towards inner cylindrical surface 4 to produce separating layer in the form of semi-permeable membrane. Part of fibrous material pores in at least the area adjoining the tube inner cylindrical surface including separating layer, represents capillars elongated radially. Said material is compressed along the tube body over its length. Note here that compression degree increases radially towards inner cylindrical surface.
EFFECT: higher selectivity and efficiency.
