FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method of controlling voltage level of gate converter that incorporates p/6 conversion sections connected in series, consists in discrete variation of the converter p/6 rectified voltage at which the level of rectified voltage selected from n=1, 2,…, p/6 conversion is set by summing uncontrolled rectified voltages of k=1, 2,…, p/6 conversion sections, respectively. Note here that at least one level is set by forced rotation of conversion sections in load tone circuit. Note that in setting whatever of n=2, 3,…, p/6 - 1 levels, conversion process includes cyclically all the p/6 conversion sections, six times per period, by enabling controlled gates according to preset algorithm. Proposed method allows preserving maximum possible power factor of p-pulse gate converter in setting whatever rectified voltage level and high quality of rectified voltage.
EFFECT: high power factor at whatever level of rectified voltage and high ratio if its pulsation.
