AC-TO-DC CONVERTER WITH 18-FOLD RIPPLE FREQUENCY Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC H02M7/162

Abstract RU 2414044 C1

FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: ac-to-dc converter with 18-fold ripple frequency is intended to feed dc consumers with increased quality requirements of conversion at various levels of rectified voltage. The proposed converter (dwg. 1) includes three-phase symmetric power supplies the similar voltages of which are in-series displaced in phase through 2π/p=20 electrical degrees, and three three-phase valve bridges the ac inputs of each of which are connected to phases of one of free power supplies, and anode output of one valve bridge connected to phases of one of extreme power supplies, and cathode output of other valve bridge connected to phases of the second of extreme power supplies, form output terminals of the device - anode and cathode ones, to which the load is connected. Converter is equipped with five controlled valves, the first one of which is connected through cathode to anode output of valve bridge connected to middle power source, and through anode - to free cathode output of one of the bridges connected to extreme power supplies; the second controlled valve is connected through anode to cathode output of valve bridge connected to middle power supply, and through cathode to free anode output of the second bridge of the bridges connected to extreme power supplies; the third controlled valve is connected through anode to anode of the first controlled valve, and through cathode to cathode of the second controlled valve; the forth controlled valve is connected through anode to anode output of the device, and through cathode to anode output of middle bridge; the fifth non-controlled valve is connected through cathode to cathode output of the device, and through anode to cathode output of middle bridge.

EFFECT: larger functional capabilities.
