FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to cardiovascular surgery. An average linear blood flow velocity (V1) in the medial cerebral artery is determined prior to the common carotid artery compression. It is followed with the ipsilateral common carotid artery compression with termination of the diastolic compression. An average linear post-compression secondary peak velocity (V2) is determined. An overshoot coefficient (OC) is calculated by formula: KO=V2/V1 at pacing rates 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 beats/min. The pacing rate is preset to observe 1.24≤OC≤1.54.
EFFECT: use of the invention improves precision of the method ensured by estimated cerebral blood flow reserve, while being all-age.
