FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: method of bottle corking using cork made from polymer material and having outer cylindrical wall to embrace bottle neck and mushroom-like element to be arranged in bottle neck, with metal cap that has inner collar and embraces cork on the side of cork face, and with tear-off element representing a tape with clamping lug on cylindrical wall, consists in feeding cork end onto bottle neck and pressing said cork to fit it in bottle neck. Cork is fed along inclined surface of orienting device spout toward bottle neck oriented along bottle travel on conveyor with its narrowed annular lower edge on chute outlet below bottle neck, bottle neck collar and, when bottle neck thrusts against aforesaid narrowed annular lower edge, cork is compressed in direction of bottle neck for fitting cork on bottle neck collar and locating said narrowed annular lower edge at or below the level of bottle neck collar. Then cork metal cap is pressed on to displace it to cork face and force cork in unless mushroom-like element inside bottle neck and bottle neck collar thrusts against cork face on the side of metal cap. Note here that mushroom-element OD exceeding ID of bottle neck.

EFFECT: simplified procedure, higher quality of corking.
