FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves preparation of carbohydrate-containing material, its fermentation in a fermenter on culturing medium using bacteria which produce butanol, acetone and ethanol. Organic solvents formed during the fermentation process are distilled and feeding is carried out with solutions of carbohydrates and mineral salts. A portion of the culturing medium containing a suspension of bacteria-producing cells is taken out of the fermenter into another vessel, undergoes evacuation and then returned to the process. Output of butanol is equal to 6.5%.
EFFECT: improved biosynthesis of organic solvents and high output of butanol.
