FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of increasing activity of streptomycin antibiotic towards streptomycin-resistant M. tuberculosis involves polymerisation and detoxification of streptomycin by treating with 0.15±0.05% formalin solution at 40.0±2.0°C for 5-7 days. Use of streptomycin antibiotic preparations obtained using disclosed method enables to lower concentration of formalin in lyophilisated form to 0.01% without changing concentration of the antibiotic.
EFFECT: high effectiveness of treating tuberculosis caused by streptomycin-resistant M tuberculosis.
