FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method involves measuring a stream of gamm-rays of a single source by recording time distribution of separate gamma quanta and then summing them into time intervals - Δtk, on which duration of the process taking place T=m·Δtk, (where m is number of intervals, m≥1) is broken and constructing a histogram of the stream. Distribution of gamma quanta is recorded simultaneously with N independent identical detectors (where N≥1), lying in the same plane with uniform flux density in form of time marks of output current pulses. Time marks of output current pulses from all detectors are summed up in each of the intervals Δtk and a histogram of the stream is constructed with time resolution τf≤Δtk<<τ0, where τ0 is resolution of one channel, and tf is duration of the front of the pulse. Sensitivity of measurements increases with increase in the number of detectors used, with preservation of the time resolution of measurements, equal to Δtk.
EFFECT: measurement of a single stream Φγ(t) with time resolution higher than integral.
