SUBSTANCE: invention describes methods for re-displaying messages before encoding, in which L specified messages from a total number K of messages are re-displayed in L re-displayed messages which are associated with code words having greater relative distance between these code words, where L can be much smaller than K. These L specified messages can be frequently used messages and/or more important messages. Re-displaying enables to send L code words with large relative distance for the L specified messages. A transmitter re-displays an incoming message into a re-displayed message, encodes this re-displayed message to obtain a code word and sends this code word for sending this incoming message. A receiver decodes the received code word to obtain a decoded message and reconstructs this decoded message to obtain a reconstructed message which is an estimation of the incoming message sent by the transmitter.

EFFECT: improved characteristics of code words without the need to alter the coding scheme.
