FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in wavelength division multiplex passive optical networks (WDM-PON), using a conventional technique of multiple use of a downlink optical signal. The WDM-PON system includes: a source light (SL) unit which forms initial light whose wavelength intervals and medium wavelength of which is controlled using at least one initial light source; an optical line terminal (OLT) which receives the source light with wavelength division multiplexing of the source light unit which transmits a downlink optical signal to a WDM-PON user and receives an uplink optical signal from the user; and an optical network unit (ONU) which receives a downlink optical signal from OLT, which levels and modulates the downlink optical signal using an uplink data stream.

EFFECT: control of equipment such that, different types of optical transmitting device must be provided for functioning, control and replacing the system.
