FIELD: information technologies.

SUBSTANCE: wireless local network (WLAN) includes at least one access point of high throughput capacity (AP) and at least one station of high throughput capacity (STA). STA station and target access point AP exchange data related to provision of high throughput capacity, and STA station performs transfer of basic set of services (BSS) to target access point AP on the basis of this data. Information related to provision of high throughput capacity may be included into signal messages of standards IEEE 802.11r, 802.11k and 802.11v. STA station may send both separate reports on measurements for extended and normal ranges of AP access points and joint report for extended and normal ranges of access points AP. Network-control device may receive information relative to current status of STA and AP related to capabilities, properties and parametres of speed transfer; and also to selectively connect and disconnect at least any of the capabilities, properties and parametres of STA and AP speed transfer.

EFFECT: reduced power consumption of stations.
