SUBSTANCE: invention discloses an apparatus and a method for facilitating user selection of communication recipients via communication devices. Attributes of previous communication events involving the communication device are monitored (1200). Selection criteria are established (1202) based on the monitored communication attributes. One or more adaptive recipient history lists are maintained (1204), which correspond to contacts associated with the communication events meeting the selection criteria. At least one adaptive recipient history list is presented (1206) to the user via the communication device, thereby allowing the user to select the intended recipient via more relevant, focused short lists of likely recipients.
EFFECT: improved presentation of a contact list.
