FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to treatment of wastes produced in using higher metal fluorides: WF6, UF6, MoF6, ReF6 and containing hydrogen fluoride, in particular to production of sorbent for cleaning of said hexafluorides. Proposed method consists in mixing lithium or barium carbonate with calcium hydroxide, drying at 20-30°C and 60-90°C, calcinating at 100-120°C and two-stage hydrofluorination by anhydrous hydrogen fluoride at 300-350°C in two sorption apparatuses connected in series.
EFFECT: high strength, porosity and hydrogen fluoride capacity.
