FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: for inactivation of alkali and/or alkaline earth metals fluorides impurities in lithium fluoride sorbent, the sorbent is treated with silicon tetrafluoride obtained by thermal decomposition of lithium hexafluorosilicate at a temperature of 175-185°C.
EFFECT: impurities of alkali or alkaline-earth metals form silicofluorides inert to uranium hexafluoride, excluding the formation of a radioactive compound in the lithium fluoride mass.
